I’VE had limited success dining out on Middle Eastern food, but things are looking up with several new places in our area. Labebe Mediterranean Cuisine in North Brunswick is by far the most ambitious in terms of ambiance and menu.
Owner Pierre Hage-Boutros also owns the long-established Pierre’s of South Brunswick, a catering hall/bakery/restaurant complex. Driving by the empty Hearth restaurant building along Route 130, however, he saw an opportunity to honor his late mother, LaBebe, whose Lebanese cooking expressed her love for her family.
